Adored Ramsey and Berry together. Sadly the editing mistakes kept taking me out of the story.
I am completely hooked on this series! This can be read as a stand alone, but it is way more fun when books are read in order. It doesn't take long for the hero to steal this reader's heart! His thoughts and feelings as his life goes every which way, but the way he planned it to, makes for entertaining reading. The heroine is spunky and trying to keep up with all that is going on in her life. The secondary characters keep the story moving along, but my favorites are the three cats that seem to keep tormenting Berry! If you love cats, you will love what they get up to. If you hate cats, strangely enough, you will probably enjoy them too! This story is full of humor, action, mystery/suspense, paranormal abilities, and steamy romance. Another reviewer mentioned typos, compared to other books, I didn't really notice that many. Most of the so called typos, were probably just the difference between British English and American English.
where to start, where to start...i really appreciate this authors' sense of humor. But please, don't kick me out of the grammar nazis club for finishing it! Spell-check should not replace an editor! If i hadn't already read-and enjoyed- several books by this author the mistakes would have turned me off very early on. After the first couple chapters i was so in to the story i don't know if i just quit noticing all the mistakes or if the mistakes were all in the first couple of chapters, but it was easier reading. I would have given two stars because of that, but i did like the story.
Ok, the story. PNR set in this universe, small town in Australia. The H is a big scary guy who gets hooked into acting as police chief in this odd place. (only somehow he just isn't so scary there, seems he fits right in) The h has returned home, broke, after a divorce, and keeps getting herded into strange circumstances by three visiting cats. Weird characters abound, previous characters from other books show up-even the dreaded and horrific bridesmaid dress that starred in the first book.(it keeps re-appearing in the closet after being thrown out, and refuses to burn) Instant attraction on both parts, no OW/OM, a mystery. I liked the dialogue, it was funny and i thought it showed them getting closer to each other. Some sex, more story. I recommend it, especially if you don't mind typos.
